Delhi Orientation

Delhi is located at the heart of the country bordering Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is geographically separated with different nomenclatures, Old Delhi and New Delhi, which show two different faces of the city. The area near Chandni Chowk, Ajmeri Gate, Kashmiri Gate etc. is known as Old Delhi or Purani Dilli which has most of the old forts and buildings like Red Fort and Jama Masjid. This part of Delhi takes on to the bygone era with its narrow lane, crowded market places, dilapidated structures and the town planning which has traditional characteristics. The accommodation here is relatively cheaper than that of New Delhi. Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT), from where you can get buses to travel to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Agra, etc. is located here.

While Old Delhi showcases the ethnic flavor, one can have a modern outlook of the capital in the city of New Delhi with its malls, tree-lined broad roads, pathways, flyovers and sky scrapers. This city is further categorized into business and residential areas around Central and South Delhi and the Government area in the Rajpath area of south Delhi. Close to Cannaught Place, there is Janpath, a place known for its shopping areas, tourist offices and affordable hotels. The urban area of south Delhi include South Extention, Greater Kailash, Green Park, Defence Colony, New Friends Colony, Kalkaji, Hauz Khas and Vasant Kunj.

You can easily land in Delhi at its Domestic and International Terminals of Indira Gandhi Airport, which is located in south west Delhi. New Delhi Railway Station and Nizammudin Railway Station are the major railheads of the capital city. Commuting within the city is also not a problem as comfy Metro Trains, AC coaches, auto rickshaws, state buses, taxis etc. are easily available on the network of well-developed roads, National Highways, flyovers and underpasses that make your travel smooth and enjoyable.
