Getting There & Away

Air: Jaipur's Sanganer Airport is situated 12 km from the city. Flights from here connect it to major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, etc. The nearest international airport is in Delhi. Indian Airlines Office is situated in Nehru Place while Jet Airways Office is in Umaid Nagar House at MI Road.

Rail: Jaipur Railway Station, located ½ km from the city centre, connects the city to all major destinations of Rajasthan as well as India like Agra, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bikaner, Udaipur, Jodhpur, etc. via Pink City Express, Shatabdi Express, Intercity Express, Palace on Wheels and other trains.

Road: National Highway 8 connects Jaipur to Delhi. Rajasthan State Transport Corporation (RSTC) buses are available from the main bus station located at Station Road. The silver line buses of RSTC and private buses are comfortable for long journeys. You can book tickets for the same from the Reservation Office of the bus station.

Getting Around
A taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost you around Rs 250 while an autorickshaw will be a cheaper option, for which you will need to shell out Rs 150. Pre-paid taxis are also available from the booths inside the airport terminals.

From the bus and train stations too, taxis are easily available from the pre-paid taxi counters. For a full day sightseeing tour, it will charge you Rs 250. A more environmental-friendly way is to hire a cycle rickshaw which will also be a cheaper option, but be prepared to bargain hard.
