A luxurious walk from the mosque leads to the city's major square, the Badi
Chaupar. To its north lies the Siredeori Bazaar or the Hawa Mahal Bazaar,
named after the exclusive monument with which it shares proximity. From the
Siredeori Bazaar, we need to go northwards and turn left, to witness the
amazing 593 carved screens of Hawa Mahal, that was meant for the royal
women.
Though the palace is not as extravagant from the inside, but you can
experience the royal interiors too by entering the monument from its rear
gate. For this you need to go back to the Badi Chaupar, take a right turn to
the Tripoli Bazaar and a second right from here. After a visit to Hawa
Mahal, the tour gets back to the Tripolia Bazaar and the Tripolia Gate,
after which it was named.
Tripolia Gate is the main entrance of the City Palace, which is exclusively
for the royals. For visitors, there is the Atishpol, a few meters away. From
here, we move northwards to another historical attraction, Jantar Mantar,
which showcases scientific brilliance of that time. Going further down the
lane, we reach the Devji Temple which is devoted to Lord Krishna's avatar
Govinda Deva. He was the prime deity of Amber's Kachawaha Dynasty.
The tour will resume after getting back to the Tripolia Gate, near which is
situated the highest structure of Pink City, Iswari Minar Swarga Sal. From
this landmark, we cross the lane and move westwards to get on to Maniharon
ka Rasta, which offers best quality lac bangles.
Watching the city closely and experiencing the fragrance of its heritage
and culture, we walk on towards the Choti Chaupar, which lies to the west of
Tripolia Gate. It is the trade spot where local villagers meet to trade the
goods that they produce.
Crossing the little square, we reach the Chandpol Bazaar. Walking past the
hustle bustle of the shops, we reach a traffic signal directing leftwards to
the Khajane Walon ka Rasta known for selling best quality marble items and
stoneware. Continuing on this road, and after crossing a broad road on the
way, we reach two tall pink colored structures which are called the Singh
Gate. This gate opens up to the outer world from the old city.
Moving out of the town, to the right and then the first left, we reach the
Panch Bhatti at MI Road. Here you can relax in a cozy restaurant and relish
delectable treats or just catch up with a movie at the legant and royal Raj
Mandir Cinema.
