Coinciding with Gangaur Festival, the exciting Mewar festival heralds the season of spring. The festival has a special charm intact to it. As the festival concurs with Gangaur festival, the ceremonies and rituals are apparently identical. It is the time for women when they flaunt their gaudy costumes and chic jewelery. The festival has both religious and cultural importance. Women folks clad in vibrant costumes gather and adorn the images of Gauri and Isar beautifully with elegant dresses and ornaments.
Later these images are taken by many routes of Udaipur and head for Gangaur ghat at Lake Pichola. From here, the images are taken into special boats and the boisterous women sing songs of folk flavor.
