Introduction
A serene secluded floating palace on the placid lake waters of Man Singh Lake describes the Jal Mahal best. It dates back to then 18th century when Madho Singh initiated it. The palace is unique in itself as the four stories of the five storeyed palace are soaked in lake waters. Only the fifth floor is over the lake water and visible. It was the summer resort for the royal families. Here duck hunting parties were held. The causeway leads one to the palace. The palace is a haven for a variety of migratory and non - migratory birds.
